Former Reps. Mia Love, Luis Gutierrez Serving as CNN Commentators

Former Reps. Mia Love and Luis Gutierrez have joined CNN as political commentators.

The news network’s Brian Stelter made the announcement on Twitter on Monday.

“Straight from Capitol Hill to CNN: former lawmakers Mia Love and Luis Gutierrez are CNN commentators, starting today,” Stelter wrote.

Love, a Republican from Utah, and Gutierrez, an Illinois Democrat, debated the government shutdown in their first appearance as commentators, Roll Call reported.

Gutierrez retired from the House, while Love lost to Democrat Ben McAdams in a tight race, Roll Call noted.
