Ex-CIA Deputy Director: Foreign Nations Have Clinton's Emails

By    |   Friday, 15 May 2015 10:12 PM EDT

Former Deputy CIA Director Michael Morell said Friday that he believes foreign governments have obtained Hillary Clinton's emails that were on her private server during her four years as secretary of state.

"I think that foreign intelligence services, the good ones, have everything on any unclassified network that the government uses," Morell told Hugh Hewitt on his radio show. "Whether it's a private server or a public one. They're that good."

Story continues below video.

Morell discussed with Hewitt his new book, "The Great War of Our Time." A former CIA director, he had most recently served as deputy director from 2010 to 2013. His comments were first reported by Politico.

Clinton stepped down as the nation's top diplomat in 2013 after four years.

Morell added that he did not think Clinton exercised "very good judgment" in deciding to use the server for her official communications.

"I don’t know who gave her that advice, but it was not good advice," he told Hewitt. "She’s paying a price for it now. It was not good."
