Ex-Breitbart reporter Michelle Fields said Wednesday night she plans to sue Donald Trump and his campaign manager Corey Lewandowski for defamation of character over an incident that occurred during a press conference last month, reports The Blaze.

Fields filed a police report after Lewandowski grabbed her by the arm and moved her out of Trump's way following a press conference in Jupiter, Florida. She claimed he grabbed her hard enough to leave bruises on her arm.

Police later charged Lewandowski with simple battery after reviewing surveillance footage that showed Lewandowski reaching and grabbing Fields' arm.

A prosecutor in Florida decided not to pursue a case against Lewandowski on the charges Fields filed against him, sources told Politico.

Fields called CNN anchor Greta Van Susteren a "Trump shill" after Van Susteren urged her not to file a defamation suit against Trump.

"Anyone encouraging Michelle Fields to bring a civil law suit is not doing her a favor," Van Susteren wrote on her website. She would likely receive "rigorous cross examination," Van Susteren wrote.

"She is just not going to win and it will be expensive and a heartache."

Fields responded to Van Susteren with a tweet

Trump has stood by his campaign manager throughout the incident, both characterizing Fields as a possible liar, according to The Blaze. Lewandowski called Fields "delusional" and Trump called into question the bruises on her arm.

After the incident, Fields said she received death threats. She temporarily moved out of her apartment, when BuzzFeed and Fox accidentally released her address, reports The Blaze.
