Responding to Sen. Bernie Sanders', I-Vt., rejection of billionaire Mike Bloomberg's self-funded campaign, Bloomberg launched an ad campaign calling out the negative "energy" coming from Sanders' campaign.
Bloomberg tweeted Monday:
"We need to unite to defeat Trump in November. This type of 'energy' is not going to get us there."
The tweet came with a video ad showing negative tweets and messaging coming from the Bernie Bros, a group of radical Sanders supporters who criticize and attack their opposition on social media.
The video shows several screenshots of threats, attacks, and harsh criticism of Sanders' Democratic presidential primary opponents.
It also showed Sanders calling for "civil discourse" from those with differing political views, trolling him by saying: "Really? Really."
"It is vitally important for those of us who hold different views to be able to engage in a civil discourse," Sanders is shown saying in the video.
