President Barack Obama "sits silently" while Islamic State jihadists annihilate Christians in the Middle East – and it's past time that America "kill every last one of these ISIS snakes," Mike Huckabee charges.
In an opinion piece for
Fox News, the former governor of Arkansas and GOP presidential candidate decries the violence against Christians near Damascus, "miles from where God revealed himself to the Apostle Paul," Palmyra, "the ancient city that Chronicles tells us was built by King Solomon," and the ancient Christian village of Sadad, where "its people even speak Christ’s native tongue: Aramaic."
"While President Obama sits silently, the same soil that sustained our Biblical forefathers is now stained with blood," Huckabee writes. "The White House abandons Christians and denies, disguises and hides the existence of radical Islam, but I will not."
Huckabee argues the president's strategy to defeat ISIS "is a complete disaster."
"Whether empowering Iranians with a path to a nuclear bomb, freeing terrorists from Guantanamo prisons so they can rejoin the fight against America, or grossly underestimating ISIS, President Obama lacks the spine and common sense to serve as commander in chief," he writes.
Huckabee says his own plan is "better" and "simple" – and he vows to implement it if elected.
"Kill ISIS. We win, they lose," he writes.
"Obama is a recklessly inept, ineffective president who has failed our nation. Americans are sick of this mess, and our troops are tired of being exploited and abused."
"It’s time we accept responsibility, lead with moral clarity, and kill every last one of these ISIS snakes," he urges.
