President Donald Trump is considering action on an Obama-era program protecting illegal immigrants brought to the country as children — and he will decide with a "big heart," Vice President Mike Pence said Thursday.
In remarks to ABC News, the Vice President was referring to the 2012 Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals policy, which Trump is reportedly leaning toward terminating.
"President Trump has said all along that he's giving very careful consideration to that issue and that when he makes his decision he'll make it, as he likes to say, with big heart," Pence told the outlet. "And I know that he will."
Fox News reported earlier Thursday the president planned to end the program "as it exists today" and could act "as early as" Friday.
White House officials insist no decision has been made.
