Montana Gov. Steve Bullock has brought in top political adviser Jenn Ridder as senior adviser for his PAC – a possible sign the Democrat is gearing up for a White House run, Politico is reporting.
Ridder was hired to work for Bullock's Big Sky Values PAC. But Politico noted she would be an obvious choice to manage Bullock's presidential campaign if he follows through with it.
"Gov. Bullock has a proven ability to win in the areas Democrats need to win in 2020 and has advanced progressive policies including Medicaid expansion, pre-K and campaign finance," Ridder said. "I'm thrilled to be working for such a strong leader as we fight for our shared values."
Ridder ran Colorado Gov. Jared Polis' uccessful campaign in 2018, Politico said. She had previously worked at the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee.
Bullock has said he likely will not make any decisions about the 2020 presidential race until the Montana legislation sessions concludes in April.
But he has already made several stops in Iowa and has met with potential campaign donors.
