The terminology House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer are using to define President Donald Trump's insistence of a border wall is "preposterous," Rep. Mark Walker, R-N.C., said Monday.

"Pelosi has continued to use a terminology, 'immoral,'" Rep. Walker told Fox News' "America's Newsroom." "How offensive is that? I'm kind of getting weary of those who are saying that Speaker Pelosi is only trying to appease the very hard radical left. She is the radical left and the most extremist of this whole negotiating process."

Meanwhile, Republicans are continuing to try to find middle ground, but Pelosi is refusing to let them move forward, Walker said.

"Listen, as a former minister, I look at it this way: God loves all people equally," he said. "We also have an obligation, Speaker Pelosi and I, we took an oath to protect the safety and the security of the American people."

He also commented on Pelosi's request to Trump to delay the State of the Union address, noting, under the Constitution, Trump has the right to convene both houses of Congress if he feels there is an extraordinary circumstance.

"This is an extraordinary circumstance, because it's never been done before, where the Speaker of the House rescinded an offer to the president to address not only the houses, but also to our country," Walker said.
