Donald Trump continues to hold the lead in a new national poll, but Ted Cruz is now tied with Ben Carson for second place, NBC News reports.
But the
NBC News/SurveyMonkey poll released Saturday showed the retired pediatric neurosurgeon slightly ahead of Trump with white evangelical voters, while Cruz leads the field among very conservative voters.
The overall results:
- Trump: 28 percent.
- Carson and Cruz: 18 percent.
- Marco Rubio: 11 percent.
- Jeb Bush: 4 percent.
- Chris Christie and Carly Fiorina: 3 percent.
- Mike Huckabee, John Kasich, and Rand Paul: 2 percent.
- Rick Santorum: 1 percent.
Among white evangelical voters:
- Carson: 25 percent.
- Trump: 23 percent.
- Cruz: 22 percent.
- Rubio: 10 percent.
- Bush: 3 percent.
- Fiorina: 2 percent.
Among very conservative voters:
- Cruz: 40 percent.
- Trump: 28 percent.
- Carson: 15 percent.
- Rubio: 5 percent.
- Fiorina: 2 percent.
- Bush: 1 percent.
The NBC News/SurveyMonkey poll involved 5,775 adults who were surveyed between last Sunday and Tuesday. It has a margin of error of 1.9 percent.
