Netanyahu Vows to Cast Out 'Darkness' of Iran Nuke Program

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu continues to slam the Obama administration for a deal with Iran that he sees as a 'darkness' in the Middle East.

On Thursday night at the Western Wall in a Hanukkah address, he said he promised to act as a “light unto the nations” and take action against Iran if details over the rogue nation's nuclear program fail to ensure safety in the region, reports The Times of Israel.

“We came to drive out the darkness, and the largest darkness that threatens the world today is a nuclear Iran,” he said. “We are bound to do all we can to prevent this darkness. If possible we will do this diplomatically, if not we will act as a light unto the nations.”

Netanyahu has repeatedly thrashed the Obama administration over a deal signed last week with Iran to curtail its nuclear aspirations. In exchange for limits on Iran's uranium enrichment, six western nations agreed to ease up on strict sanctions that have crippled the country.

“I believe in speaking the truth, and standing for important principles in order to ensure peace in the world and our security, and of course our peace,” he said. “We will continue to act in this spirit.”

Netanyahu said he is in talks to make sure the deal with Iran “brings a final result of the dismantling of Iran’s ability for a military nuclear program."
