In the latest sign that the new healthcare law is in trouble, a poll shows that a large percentage of New York state doctors have no plans to participate in Obamacare.
According to a poll conducted by the New York State Medical Society, 44 percent of the 409 doctors questioned said they are not participating in the nation's new healthcare law, while another 33 percent said they are still unsure whether they will choose to become Obamacare providers,
The New York Post reports.
Just 23 percent said they are taking patients who sign up through the new health insurance exchanges. But three out of four of those participating said they "had to participate" because of existing contractual obligations with an insurer or medical provider, not because they wanted to. Just one in four "affirmatively" chose to sign up for the exchanges.

"This is so poorly designed that a lot of doctors are afraid to participate," Dr. Sam Unterricht, president of the 29,000-member organization, told the Post. "There's a lot of resistance. Doctors don't know what they're going to get paid."
The survey invited doctors to share anonymous opinions about the new healthcare law, which appeared to be overwhelmingly negative.
"I plan to retire if this disaster is implemented. This is a train wreck," said one doctor, according to the Post. "I get screwed from insurance companies already. I refuse to get screwed any longer," said another.
Others warned that the pressure on insurers to lower costs will lead to a system of rationed care.
"Obamacare is a disaster. I have already seen denial of medication, denial of referrals," a doctor said.
