Newsmax's mobile app has been climbing by leaps and bounds this week, reaching the third-place spot on Apple's iOS downloads for iPhones in the free news category, before settling in fifth place on Friday and making similar advances on the Android store.
The app on Friday reached the second place spot on Apple's iOS downloads for iPad, topped only by Twitter.
According to marketing figures, until this week Newsmax's app averaged 700 to 1,000 downloads and installs daily on users' Apple devices, and similar numbers on Android phones.
But on Tuesday, one day after Fox News fired star host Tucker Carlson, Newsmax's app numbers shifted higher. Monday's numbers of Android app downloads was 1,444, compared to 12,751 on Tuesday, according to marketing figures.
On Apple devices, Monday marked 811 downloads, compared to 13,800 on Tuesday.
The high numbers have continued on both platforms, with Newsmax wrapping up the week in fifth place on Apple's news app downloads, after climbing 39 spaces to end up in fifth place on Monday, third place on Tuesday, fifth place Wednesday, fourth place on Thursday, and back at fifth place Friday.
As of Friday, the top news apps from Apple's App Store for iPhone were, in addition to Newsmax: Reddit, Twitter, NewsBreak, and Nextdoor.
