Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley is targeting former President Donald Trump in new ads focused on South Carolina after finishing 11 points behind in Tuesday night’s New Hampshire primary.
Haley promised "this race is far from over" and pointed to South Carolina’s Feb. 24 primary in her home state.
Haley served as South Carolina governor from 2011 to 2017. Despite voters' familiarity with her, the state's conservative primary electorate is expected to be highly favorable to Trump, CBS News noted.
Haley, former U.N. ambassador, is now in a sole contest for the Republican nomination with Trump, her once boss, after Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and other candidates dropped out of the race.
Haley is under pressure to build her momentum as Trump continues to lead by double digits in national polling, The Hill noted.
One of Haley's new commercials that will air in South Carolina says President Joe Biden is “too old” and Trump [brings] “too much chaos,” adding that “no one wants” a rematch between them.
