North Korea scientists claim to have created a liquor the doesn't leave a hangover, however, the claim may just be just another hoax from a country that last year insisted it had new medicines made from plant extracts that cured AIDS, SARS and MERS.

According to the Pyongyang Times, a newspaper controlled by the North Korean government, its miracle booze, Koryo Liquor, is a ginseng-based liquid that can be consumed without fear of a hangover.

"It is highly appreciated by experts and lovers as it is suave and causes no hangover," the newspaper says.

The article says the secret is the replacing of sugar with scorched rice, which eases and bad after-effects.

But an official at the Choson Exchange, which advises North Korean businesses, told London's Guardian he is skeptical.

"There are some high quality liquors made in North Korea, though in my experience there is no such thing as hangover-free booze anywhere in the world," said Andray Abrahamian, director of research at Choson.
