Conservative rocker Ted Nugent wants to put illegal immigrants to work building a an “undefeatable border fence” around the U.S.
The Newsmax contributor and member of the board of directors of the National Rifle Association was defending a recent op-ed in which he laid out his Nuge Immigration Plan or NIP for short. The article was published by WND Commentary.
“The NIP is not an amnesty program,” he penned. “Amnesty is for left-wing mollycoddlers, losers, bureaucrats and hippies. Occupy that.”
Instead, the platinum-selling artist perhaps best known for his 70s hit, “Cat Scratch Fever,” suggested that “all illegal men in America” should be required to work on “a real full-length, undefeatable border fence” that he says could be completed in one year.
Anyone “who is a known member of a street rat gang” would be deported with no chance for return. Illegal Children and family of gang members would also be deported, and permanently barred from the U.S.
Nugent said he has no problems granting citizenship to “legal immigrants who are willing to bust their hump and prove they want to be a glowing, positive asset to America” following a five-year waiting period, in which they are treated like “indentured servants” — meaning that they must earn their stars and stripes.
“We would pay them minimum wage, provide food and shelter, and provide them English and American history classes at night,” he added. “Everyone wins.”
