Rep. Cynthia Lummis told "Fox & Friends" that Obamacare architect Jonathan Gruber sounded "insincere" in his testimony Tuesday on Capitol Hill, which is why she told him to get over his "damned glibness."

"I'd been sitting in the hearing all morning listening to Jonathan Gruber repeat a canned so-called apology. He would say, 'I was glib, and I was building myself up by tearing other people down.' That's why he claimed he called the American people stupid.

"After he said it about a dozen times in a way that was just repeating a memorized statement, it just came across as so insincere. And, so, I just wanted to convey to him that these things matter to the American people, and they matter to me," the Wyoming Republican said Wednesday.

Story continues below video.

During Tuesday's testimony, Gruber repeatedly blamed "glibness" for the reason why he had said the "stupidity of the American voter" was needed to pass Obamacare.

During the hearing, Lummis told Gruber to "get over your damned glibness," because it had "direct consequences for real American people."

Lummis said on Wednesday that she and her husband, who died in his sleep of a massive heart attack on Oct. 24, had been caught in confusion over whether or not they had healthcare insurance through Obamacare. That time period, she said, coincided with when her husband was having medical tests conducted.

"When my husband filed his claims for these tests, they denied them and said you're not signed up for Obamacare," she said. "The doctor recommended one more, and it was the kind of test that would reveal an artery that is clogged on the backside of your heart that's very difficult to see with a chest X-ray."

Lummis said her husband may not have had the test because he was "discouraged" by the confusion, but added it would be a "gross overstatement" to blame Obamacare for his death.
