Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, who condemned WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange in the past, is now apologizing to him for the attacks.

In an open letter to him posted on her Facebook page, Palin wrote:

"To Julian Assange: I apologize. Exposing the truth re: the Left having been oh-so-guilty of atrocious actions and attitudes of which they've falsely accused others. The media collusion that hid what many on the Left have been supporting is shocking. This important information that finally opened people's eyes to democrat candidates and operatives would not have been exposed were it not for Julian Assange."

Her comments came after Fox News' Sean Hannity interviewed Assange.

During the interview Assange declared the Russians were not the source of emails that WikiLeaks released from the Democratic National Committee and Hillary Clinton's campaign chairman John Podesta, The New York Times reports.

In her Facebook note to Assange, Palin apologized three times for her previous comments about him.

"I apologize for condemning Assange when he published my infamous (and proven noncontroversial, relatively boring) emails years ago.

"As I said at the time of being targeted and my subsequent condemnation, though, the line must be drawn before our troops or innocent lives deserving protection would be put at risk as a result of published emails."

The Hill notes she had previously called him "an anti-American operative with blood on his hands."

She ended the letter urging people to watch the movie 'Snowden,' which details Edward Snowden's leak of government classified information.

"That movie and Hannity's interview…are quite enlightening," she said.
