Paul, Cruz Attach Drone Prohibition to Spending Bill

Sen. Rand Paul plans to continue his challenge to the Obama administration’s drone policy, following his 13-hour filibuster against CIA Director John Brennan last week.

The Kentucky Republican will seek to attach a prohibition against drone strikes against American citizens on U.S. soil to the continuing resolution needed to fund the government for the rest of the fiscal year.

Paul will be joined by in the move by Republican Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas this week when the spending measure hits the Senate floor, according to Politico.

Paul mounted his filibuster, which received vast media attention, after receiving a letter from Attorney General Eric Holder stating that the U.S. had the right under the Constitution to carry out domestic drone strikes.
