Maine Gov. Paul LePage has blasted a Washington Post report that says President Donald Trump is eyeing him to try to unseat Sen. Angus King next year.
"That's fake news . . . A man has to know his limitations. And I'm a doer. The Senate does nothing," the two-term, lame-duck governor told the Lewiston Sun Journal.
And, quipped LePage, "I like being married."
On Wednesday, The Washington Post reported that Trump told his aides he planned to call LePage and offer his endorsement if he entered the 2018 race against King, 73, an independent who sometimes sides with Democrats.
King previously served as Maine's 72nd governor from 1995 to 2003.
