House Speaker Paul Ryan, R-Wis., says "it is time" for President Donald Trump's proposed wall along the Mexico border.
Ryan's comments came Tuesday in a tweet he posted along with a video of his visit to the border earlier this year.
"I had the opportunity to travel down to Texas go to the Rio Grande Valley and spend time with our border patrol," Ryan says in the video. "When you see what they're up against, it really gives you even greater respect for what they do. They clearly need more tools and more support to do their jobs effectively."
Ryan's website echoed the same thoughts he expressed on Twitter.
"It's time for the wall," the website said. "That's why the House voted to fully fund the Trump administration's request to build it. "
