More than half of American adults are opposed to society becoming more politically correct than it already is.

Key results in the NPR/PBS NewsHour/Marist poll:

  • 52 percent said they are not in favor of the United States becoming more politically correct, with 36 percent saying they are for it.
  • Americans are split at 47 percent on whether they feel they can speak their mind more freely than they could a few years ago.

Political consultant Mary Matalin told Newsmax TV last month the PC culture is impacting everything from the voting booth to the border.

Businessman, author, and entertainer Phil Robertson argued in a column that what the U.S. needs is biblical correctness, not political correctness.
