Former President Donald Trump leads with an overall net favorability rating among Republicans, while Republican Sens. Mitch McConnell, Ky., and Mitt Romney, Utah, ranked lowest, the poll showed.

According to The Economist/YouGov poll, Trump held a net favorability of +63, his son Donald Trump Jr. led with +57, and trailing not far behind him were Gov. Ron DeSantis at +53, Sen. Ted Cruz at +43, and Nikki Haley at +41.

Meanwhile, Romney's approval rating was -31, marking a 94-point separation between him and Trump. McConnell stood second to last in the poll ahead of Romney, with a net favorability of -3, a 66-point separation between him and Trump.

Signifying a chasm between the coalition under the America First banner and establishment Republicans, both Romney and McConnell supported Rep. Liz Cheney, R-Wyo., who serves as vice-chair for the Jan. 6 committee.

But according to Breitbart's Wendell Husebø, "the fault line between Trump and the establishment was defined well before Trump ran for president in 2016. In 2012, the establishment Republicans commissioned an autopsy report that was produced after Romney lost the election to Barack Obama. The autopsy called on Republicans to blend in with Democrats and support the Washington, D.C., establishment's policies that failed to secure victory in the 2012 presidential election."
