Healthcare remains the most important political topic for the average voter, according to a new poll from the Kaiser Family Foundation.
KFF found that the vast majority of the roughly 1,200 respondents rated healthcare as “very important” to them, just above jobs and the economy:
- Healthcare: 71 percent.
- Jobs/economy: 64 percent.
- Guns: 60 percent.
- Immigration: 55 percent.
- Taxes: 53 percent.
- Foreign policy: 51 percent.
About one-in-three rated it their “most important” issue in the upcoming midterm elections:
- Healthcare: 30 percent.
- Jobs/economy: 21 percent.
- Guns: 15 percent.
- Immigration: 15 percent.
- Taxes: 7 percent.
- Foreign policy: 6 percent.
Democrats and independents are more likely to rate healthcare as their top issue than Republicans, who tend to rank immigration, jobs and the economy as their most significant issues.
KFF surveyed 1,201 adults from across the country from September 19th to October 2nd by phone with a margin of error of +/- 3 percentage points.
