Former Vice President Joe Biden on Tuesday received a slight increase in the latest poll of Democratic contenders for the Democratic nomination from Morning Consult.

Morning Consult polled over 17 thousand Democratic primary voters from across the country. Among Democratic primary voters, Biden holds a strong lead over his closest rivals, Vermont independent Sen. Bernie Sanders and Democratic Sens. Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts and Kamala Harris of California, despite another recent poll from Monmouth University showing his support falling dramatically.

  • Biden: 33 percent
  • Sanders: 20 percent
  • Warren: 15 percent
  • Harris: 8 percent

Biden also came out ahead among Democratic voters in states with early primaries, including Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina, and Nevada.

  • Biden: 33 percent
  • Sanders: 17 percent
  • Warren: 12 percent
  • Harris: 8 percent

The poll also asked respondents to rank their first and second choices for nominees. Biden supporters were most likely to rank Sanders second, and vice versa, Warren supporters were most likely to choose Sanders second, and Warren was the second choice for both Harris supports and for those who back South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg.

Morning Consult’s survey is based on 17,303 interviews with registered voters conducted between August 19 and August 25, with a margin of error of +/- 1 percent.
