Former President Donald Trump and President Joe Biden are in a statistical dead heat in Wisconsin, according to a new poll from Marquette Law School.
The survey found that Trump and Biden are each supported for president by 49% of registered Wisconsin voters. Among likely voters, Trump has 50% support, while Biden has 49%.
According to Marquette, in November, Biden was at 50% and Trump was at 48% support among both registered and likely voters.
Those who say they are "very enthusiastic" about voting support Trump over Biden, 59% to 40%, while those who are "not too enthusiastic" support Biden over Trump, 60% to 37%.
In a matchup between Biden and GOP candidate Nikki Haley, who is challenging Trump for the Republican nomination, 57% of registered voters supported Haley, while 41% supported Biden. Among likely voters, Haley garnered 57% support, while Biden pulled 42%.
Thirty-three percent of respondents say the United States is supplying too much aid to Ukraine, while 25% say the U.S. is not providing enough; 30% say the amount of aid to Ukraine is just right.
Among registered voters, 31% say the U.S. is providing too much support for Israel versus 17% who say the United States is not providing enough. Thirty-six percent say the amount of support to Israel is the right amount.
In Wisconsin, 57% say they think it is better for the U.S. if the country is involved in world affairs, compared to 30% who say it is better if the United States doesn't concern itself with world affairs. According to the poll, Democrats are somewhat more supportive of the U.S. taking an active role in world affairs than Republicans are.
The poll was conducted Jan. 24-31 and surveyed 930 Wisconsin registered voters. It has a margin of error of plus or minus 4.2 percentage points.
