Apparently unfazed by disastrous political gaffes of fellow celebrities, actor Johnny Depp took a swipe at President Donald Trump on Thursday, asking a festival crowd in England, "when was the last time an actor assassinated a president?"
The crack came at the Glastonbury Festival in Somerset.
"Can we bring Trump here? . . . I think he needs help," Depp said, a video posted online showed.
"This is going to be in the press, and it'll be horrible. But I'd like you'all a part of it. When was the last time an actor assassinated a president?"
The 54-year-old "Pirates of the Caribbean" star followed by saying he is not an actor, but someone who lies "for a living."
However, he said, it has "been a while, and maybe it's time."
Actor John Wilkes Booth assassinated President Abraham Lincoln in 1865.
Last month, comedian Kathy Griffin created a firestorm when she posted a picture of herself holding a mock "decapitated" head of Trump.
