After years of avoiding the public eye since his departure from the White House, former President George W. Bush is stepping back into the spotlight to bolster the presidential campaign of his younger brother, Jeb Bush.

The Washington Post reports
that W. will headline a Sept. 10 luncheon fundraiser in New York.

The following month, George W. Bush and Jeb Bush will join their father, George H.W. Bush, for a major-donor conference — the "Jeb Celebration" — in Houston, the Wall Street Journal reported, adding that having his brother and father campaigning for him "illustrates the pros and cons of Jeb Bush's famous bloodline, because it is sure to draw legions of donors loyal to his dad and brother while rekindling voters' concerns about electing the son and brother of the last two Republican presidents."

Former first lady Barbara Bush is also expected to attend the late October gathering.

In order for donors to receive an invite to the Houston event, they must raise at least $50,000 by the end of September; $100,000 if they want a picture with the former presidents, according to Journal reporter Patrick O’Connor.

The 43rd president, George W. Bush, has also solicited supporters via email, seeking smaller contributions — $25 to $100 — on his younger brother's behalf.

"My brother will be a tremendous president," he wrote. "He is a proven leader with an optimistic outlook and a clear, conservative agenda for America's future."

Other fundraisers are in the planning stages, according to the Post, with talk of another October gathering, this one in Arkansas.
