President Donald Trump will reportedly host a private dinner for French President Emmanuel Macron at Mount Vernon, the colonial home of George Washington.
The rare honor was reported Sunday by the French publication, Journal du Dimanche.
"Donald Trump and his wife Melania will welcome Emmanuel and Brigitte Macron to Mount Vernon for a private dinner on the evening of their arrival in Washington on April 23," a translation of the report stated.
"The American organizers of the French president's state visit to the United States wanted to be at the height of the reception at the Eiffel Tower where … Macron had invited the Trump last July," the report stated, noting Mount Vernon is built on the heights of the Potomac.
According to the Washington Examiner, former President George W. Bush hosted former French President Nicolas Sarkozy for an interview in February 2007, and former President John F. Kennedy invited Pakistani President Muhammad Ayub Khan there for a state dinner in 1961.
