FAU Professor Questions Whether Boston Attack Was Staged

By    |   Tuesday, 23 April 2013 11:48 PM EDT

A Florida Atlantic University professor — the same university where the “Stomp Jesus” exercise drew national headlines last month — has questioned whether the Boston Marathon Bombing attack was staged.

James Tracy, who specializes in media history and analysis as well as political economy of communication, questioned the attack in his personal blog dubbed the “Memory Hole,” on Monday.

Tracy, who holds a doctoral degree from the University of Iowa, writes, “photographic evidence of the event suggests the possibility of play actors getting into position after the detonation of what may in fact have been a smoke bomb or similarly benign explosive.”

In March, Deandre Poole, who taught at the same university, was put on administrative leave for his own safety after telling his class to stomp on a piece of paper with “Jesus” written on it.

Tracy, himself was reprimanded earlier this year after a blog post in which he questioned “whether the Sandy Hook shooting ever took place,” according to a report in the Palm Beach Post.

In his more recent blog entry, Tracy posted a number of videos and photographs from various casualty drills and then compared them to photographs and videos taken in Boston, including the now iconic photograph of a blast victim being pushed out of harms way in a wheelchair by a good Samaritan wearing a cowboy hat.

“The use of a wheelchair to aid and transport an individual with such severe injuries — who amazingly is still conscious and discharging little, if any blood — runs counter to common emergency medical procedure,” Tracy wrote.

He added, “what exactly took place on April 15 at the Boston Marathon is unclear, yet what is now evident is a stark divergence between the narrative description of excessive carnage meted out as a result of the explosive devices and at least a portion of the video and photographic documentation of the bombing itself.”
