Emir of Qatar Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani's plane landed in Saudi Arabia this week for the first time since a blockade was put in place two years ago.
According to Middle East Monitor, the plane touched down at King Abdulaziz International Airport near Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on Monday.
"Qatar Airways is landing at Jeddah airport for the first time since the outbreak of the Gulf crisis and the siege of Qatar," Qatar Airways tweeted.
In June 2017, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, and Egypt imposed a diplomatic and economic boycott on Qatar over allegations that the latter is siding with Iran and supports terrorism. On Thursday, Saudi King Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Al Thani will hold a summit in the Saudi city of Mecca.
Qatar has denied having any terrorism links.
Qatar withdrew from OPEC in January because of the conflict with its Middle Eastern neighbors.
