Sixty-six percent of voters disapprove of President Donald Trump's use of emergency executive powers to fund a wall on the southern border of the U.S., according to a new Quinnipiac University poll.
Thirty-one percent approve of it.
Here are the highlights from the poll released Wednesday:
- 69 percent of Republicans approve of Trump's emergency powers for the wall, while 29 percent do not.
- 5 percent of Democrats approve, while 95 percent disapprove.
- 26 percent of independents approve, compared to 70 percent who do not.
- 86 percent of all those polled support background checks on all gun purchases.
- 60 percent of voters say "the use of marijuana should be made legal in the U.S.," while 33 percent disagree.
The poll, conducted March 1-4, surveyed 1,120 voters. It has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.4 percentage points.
