Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul, who spoke out in the Thursday GOP debate to attack presidential frontrunner Donald Trump, and continued that attack on Sunday.

"I don't think we should reward vulgarity. And I don't think vulgarity equates with insight," Paul told "Fox News Sunday" host Chris Wallace, who also was one of the Fox News debate moderators.

"You can shout and call people names and call people someone stupid or call someone fat," Paul said, but asked, "Is that really what we're going to make the decision on for who's going to be our nominee?"

He also suggested Trump may not really be a conservative.

Paul is part of the tea party movement that Paul said was formed from people tired of fake conservatives who favored Obamacare and the bank bailouts.

"Well, that's Donald Trump, Paul said. "He's been for all these liberal policies."

But now, Trump's supporters say he is a "truth-teller," Paul said. "Well, the truth is, what is he for? … I have no idea what his real philosophy is other than he is for promoting himself."

Paul also defended his plan for a 14.5 percent flat income tax and a 14.5 percent value added tax, even though the Tax Foundation says it will drop revenue by $3 trillion.

Paul said it all depends on how you look at it.

"I want the private sector to be $3 trillion bigger," he said, adding that the Tax Foundation also said his plan would create millions of jobs.
