Most voters think Congressional Democrats' threats to impeach President Donald Trump, Attorney General William Barr and Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh are not going anywhere and that impeachment proceedings won't happen, according to a new Rasmussen Reports poll.
Out of 1,000 likely voters surveyed on May 2 and May 5, 71% think lawmakers in the House of Representatives are not likely to impeach Barr, Kavanaugh, or Trump in the next few months. In addition:
- 22% say the impeachment of any of the three is likely;
- 7% say impeachment is very likely;
- 34% say it's not at all likely.
The poll has a margin of error of plus or minus 3 percentage points, with a 95% level of confidence.
It comes on the heels of a Rasmussen finding in April that most Americans don't think special counsel Robert Mueller's report will lead to Trump's impeachment, even if the media was pushing for proceedings to take place.
