RNC Releases Anti-Hillary Ad Day Before Debate

Republicans went on offense on the eve of the first Democratic candidates' presidential debate, taking on front-runner Hillary Clinton with a new political ad charging she misled the public by using a private email server during her tenure as secretary of state.

Paid for by the Republican National Committee, the ad, released Monday, highlights Clinton's comment that she "did not email classified material to anyone."

Authorities are trying to discern whether Clinton and her aides mishandled secrets about the Benghazi terrorist attacks and other top secret information by corresponding about them by email.

"Hillary Clinton is not telling us the truth ... again," the ad says in text displayed on screen.

The five-figure ad buy will put the 30-second spot on cable television and online, where it will be specifically targeted toward supporters of Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders, Clinton's leading primary opponent, according to the RNC.

"Hillary Clinton’s growing scandals and the multiple investigations into the potential mishandling of classified info is a mess of her own creation," RNC chairman Reince Priebus said in a statement.

"As Democrats debate in Vegas the RNC will continue to remind voters, including Democrats, why the vast majority of Americans find Clinton to be dishonest and untrustworthy."
