Former Texas Gov. Rick Perry is joining the cast of ABC's "Dancing With the Stars."
Entertainment Tonight reports Perry, a Republican presidential candidate in 2012 and 2016, will be partnered with a professional dancer to compete in the upcoming 23rd season, which premieres on ABC Sept. 12.
Entertainment Tonight's report also confirmed the addition of rapper and "Vanilla Ice Project" host Vanilla Ice, retired football star Calvin Johnson, IndyCar driver James Hinchcliffe, TV actress Marilu Henner,
Previously announced competitors for this year include Olympic gymnast Laurie Hernandez, Olympic swimmer Ryan Lochte, "Brady Bunch" actress Maureen McCormick, singer Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds, model Amber Rose, former "Wizards of Waverly Place" actor Jake T. Austin, and "Little Woman: LA" star Terra Jole.
Former House Speaker Tom DeLay appeared in Season 9. Bristol Palin, the daughter of former Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin, appeared in seasons 11 and 15. Actor Antonio Sabato Jr., who spoke on behalf of Donald Trump at the Republican National Convention, competed in season 19.
