Former Sen. Rick Santorum of Pennsylvania says he continues to "seriously" mull a run for president in 2016 and is busy building a war chest as he considers seeking the Republican nomination.
"[I'm] putting a team together, talking to folks about putting some money together, and looking at a team," Santorum said Thursday on "The Steve Malzberg Show" on
Newsmax TV.
"We're seriously looking at this and we're seeing if we can put the pieces together."

Santorum, who unsuccessfully sought the Republican nomination in 2012, said he will likely not make a decision until "well into 2015," but that it's a possibility "given what's going on in the rest of the world."
Santorum, who now heads the family-friendly movie company EchoLight Studios, once again called on the White House to enact a travel ban in and out of West Africa — something it is reluctant to do.
"It makes no sense when we have so little information as we have seen about how this virus is transmitted that there's conflicting information," Santorum said.

"We have people who are being infected, we have one of the most deadliest deadly viruses that we've encountered. This is nothing to play around with.
"We do know that people can be traveling without symptoms and have the virus, so all of this screening that's occurring at the border at airports may or may not be successful."
Santorum said that unless the United States gets a grip on the Ebola crisis at home, "the rest of the world is going to be very, very sick."
