Republicans are focusing on results and getting things done for the the American people and Democrats are focused on resisting, especially on immigration reform, and voters are taking note, Republican National Committee Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel said Wednesday.
"I think it highlights how silent the Democrats have been on immigration reform," McDaniel said told Fox News' "Fox and Friends," while discussing President Donald Trump's comments that he is considering executive action to stop "birthright citizenship."
"We obviously have a problem in this country," McDaniel said. "The president is leading the way. He wants to work with Democrats. We have this huge caravan heading towards our border. We have another one setting up to come to our border. We have to solve our immigration problems in this country, and Democrats are silent again."
Meanwhile, there are many seats in play in districts where Hillary Clinton won votes in the 2016 presidential election, but Republican incumbents are seeking reelection, said McDaniel.
"It's neck and neck right now," McDaniel said of next week's midterm elections. "It's going to depend on turnout."
Democrats have also made "flat-out false" claims that Republicans will remove pre-existing conditions stipulations from healthcare, said McDaniel.
McDaniel also spoke about the chances of Republicans in next week's elections, saying she believes the party will keep its majority in the Senate and potentially expand it, and she thinks the GOP majority will remain in the House, but those races are "neck and neck."
