The Republican National Committee is launching an ad campaign on Tuesday that features people who have been driven away from socialist countries such as Venezuela or Cuba in an attempt to warn voters about the dangers of the Democrat's socialist agendas, RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel said Tuesday.
"When you say socialism a lot of people in this country don't understand what that means," McDaniel told Fox News' "Fox and Friends." "When you hear it firsthand from people from Venezuela or Cuba who have been driven from their countries, who have dealt with the poverty and instability it brings to their government, I think it really resonates."
In addition to the advertising, the RNC has launched a website so stories can be heard firsthand, and it is "very powerful," said McDaniel.
"You had all the candidates on the (debate) stage promising free healthcare for immigrants, including (former Vice President) Joe Biden and (Sen.) Bernie Sanders, promising free everything," said McDaniel. "These are people who have never created jobs. They never created a company. They are addicted to power. They take it over and they never let it go. We should be fearful of it."
McDaniel also discussed the current fundraising numbers, with the RNC and President Donald Trump bringing in $300 million so far this year, and having $158 million cash on hand. In comparison, the Democratic National Committee has raised $66.5 million and has $8.6 million cash on hand.
"It's people who love this president, the power behind this president, the energy behind him," said McDaniel. "The small-dollar level is like nothing we have ever seen...they recognize their jobs are coming back, that their wages are up, and they are all in."
