Actor Robert De Niro said he was anxious to play special counsel Robert Mueller again after he appeared as Mueller in a "Saturday Night Live" sketch on the NBC series.
"I hope there's a couple where I interrogate him, then I arrest him, and I escort him to jail," De Niro said Wednesday on NBC's "Today."
De Niro said President Donald Trump had a role in him becoming more politically active.
"I've never been this active, but when I see what's going on with this guy, you have no choice but to be active," De Niro said.
"It's past the point of being passive. People have to speak out… this guy, this administration is beyond belief," De Niro added.
Actor Ben Stiller played Trump lawyer Michael Cohen and De Niro joined him as Mueller in the "Saturday Night Live" sketch, a parody of Stiller and De Niro's 2000 movie "Meet the Parents."
The "Raging Bull" actor has been a frequent critic of Trump.
"I'd like to punch him in the face," De Niro shamelessly declared in February 2017.
