Political strategist Roger Stone, a longtime ally of President Donald Trump, said Wednesday he is confident two polygraph tests will help prove to special counsel Robert Mueller he had no advance knowledge of WikiLeaks disclosures that roiled the 2016 presidential campaign.
In an interview on Newsmax TV's "America Talks Live," Stone confirmed reports he has expanded his legal team ahead of a possible Mueller indictment to include prestigious Florida lawyer Bruce Rogow — and it was Rogow who suggested the lie detector exams.
"It never hurts to be prepared, but the facts have not changed," Stone said.

"I've maintained all along that my Twitter postings regarding WikiLeaks are based on all public information," he said, adding WikiLeaks' head Julian Assange himself said he had "devastating information on Hillary [Clinton] which he would make public in October [2016], which of course he did."
"So, what I am guilty of is hyping, posturing, and bluffing, and punking the Democrats, but doing so entirely on the basis of . . . public information that could be found on WikiLeaks' Twitter feed or by doing a Google news alert search on Julian Assange," Stone said.
Stone also said he was not worried about reports Mueller has already subpoenaed Trump — or that former White House chief strategist Steve Bannon was questioned by Mueller's investigators.
"I never passed anything along to the president," Stone declared.
And he said he merely told Bannon in an email about Assange's announcement of releasing damaging information on Clinton — "but that is public information."
"If Bannon was asked about that, I hope he told the truth," he said.
Stone also weighed in on the upcoming midterm elections, saying the House majority will likely be decided by "a very small number of districts in a very small number of votes."
But he said if Democrats win back the majority, "there will be a move to impeach our president based on whatever fraudulent grounds they can come up with."
“We've seen I think in the [hearings for Supreme Court Justice Brett ] Kavanaugh . . . a potential dress rehearsal for what may happen if the Democrats win the House," he said.
