New MSNBC host Ronan Farrow won't answer questions about his family at a Wednesday night event, and reporters making such inquiries will get the boot, according to the
New York Post.
The newspaper reports that a representative for Reach the World’s 14th annual benefit at the Princeton Club explained: "We would like you to sign the form or indicate by return email that you understand our goals to stay completely on message given the surrounding circumstances. We will not tolerate press questions about personal or family affairs related to Mr. Farrow."
A "tip sheet" distributed to reporters states, "The theme of the evening is global education and service. All press are required to stay strictly on message. Any press who ask guests or Mr. Farrow about off-message topics will be immediately escorted out of the event."
The son of Mia Farrow and Woody Allen is receiving the Cronkite Award for Excellence in Exploration and Journalism, the same week his new show, Ronan Farrow Daily, debuted on MSNBC.
Despite the warning to reporters, Farrow has not shied from addressing his sister Dylan’s allegation that their father, Allen, sexually abused her or that Ronan Farrow could be Frank Sinatra’s biological son.
He sent a Twitter message on Super Bowl Sunday voicing his support for his sister.
He also addressed his controversial paternity at a New York benefit.
"You know, I wasn’t there, so I don’t have a lot more to offer than you," he told New York magazine's
Vulture blog.
The media have long speculated on Ronan Farrow’s paternity, but rumors kicked into overdrive when Vanity Fair in November published a lengthy piece about Mia Farrow in which she acknowledged it’s possible Sinatra is Ronan’s biological father.
