Vice President Joe Biden still hasn't said whether he will join the Democratic race for president in 2016, but one very well-placed observer is convinced he will.

News Corp. Chairman Rupert Murdoch tweeted on Monday that Biden already appears to be running and will likely win the nomination. He didn't elaborate.

Biden has been the subject of speculation recently as front-runner Hillary Clinton's poll numbers have suffered amid questions about the private email server she used as secretary of state. He has declined to give an answer as to whether he is in fact running, but has noted privately that he still is recovering from the death in the spring of his son, Beau.

Biden is currently polling third to Clinton and Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders, but a candidate often gets a poll bump once he or she becomes a declared candidate.

During a Labor Day appearance earlier Monday in Pittsburgh, some in the crowd cheered for Biden to run.

"You gotta talk to my wife about that. I gotta talk to my wife about that," he replied.

AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka was at Biden's side as he marched in the Labor Day parade, and when a CNN reporter asked him if he was running, Biden said he probably would run at least partway through the parade.

Sure enough, Biden later broke into a jog, providing the perfect visual for a "Biden's Running" headline.
