Palin: Disloyal, Corrupt GOP Establishment Colluding with Obama

By    |   Monday, 21 October 2013 06:04 AM EDT

Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin may have taken another step toward seeking the 2016 Republican Presidential nomination with a combative op-ed on Breitbart.

Recalling that she had once beaten crooked Republican politicians in Alaska – who'd brazenly tagged themselves "the Corrupt Bastards Club" – Palin rhetorically asked: "Doesn't it seem like [today] we have a Corrupt Bastards Club in D.C.? On steroids?"

Disloyal Republicans are enabling President Barack Obama to march the country toward socialism while denouncing Sens. Ted Cruz, Mike Lee and tea party-aligned House members who have been trying to defund Obamacare, Palin charged.

Establishment GOP politicians failed to use the power of the purse to halt Obamacare's implementation. Instead, "they balked, waved the white flag, and joined the lapdog media in trashing the good guys who fought for us," Palin wrote.

She challenged the Republican establishment to unite behind conservative grassroots efforts to block Obamacare before it is too late.

She warned that Obamacare is part of a phased plan toward socialized medicine and raised the prospect that the system's much-lamented computer glitches could be part of a purposeful scheme to accelerate that process.

According to Palin, "radical" and "unprecedented, Obamacare for now manifests itself as a form of corporatism – a collusion of big government with big business – but the ultimate destination is socialized medicine. Run by faceless bureaucrats, Obamacare is designed to ignore actuarial data, offer fewer choices, fewer doctors, at inflated costs, with high deductibles and skyrocketing premiums even for those who can dodge Obamacare exchanges.

Palin sees Obamacare's colossal rollout bungle as purposeful. The built-in flaws, costs and complexities of Obamacare could actually be intended to stampede frustrated Americans to want "free" and supposedly simpler socialized medicine.

The outcome would be national bankruptcy, she cautioned.

"From the very start, we knew that any health care reform could move us in one of two directions: closer to a genuine free market and patient-centered system to allow choices, affordability, and continued economic freedom, or closer to full socialized healthcare in the form of a single-payer system." The Democrats openly admit they want socialized medicine in the form of a single-payer system, she wrote.

Staking out her position on immigration, Palin charged that establishment lawmakers are stealthily supporting plans to legalize 33 million new – Democratic-leaning – voters whose clout would make it unfeasible to turn back big government.

Palin declared that the conservative grassroots was "rising up" against "corruption" in support of economic freedom and limited government. She challenged the GOP establishment to join the battle or be swept aside.
