Former Sen. Scott Brown belittled the Affordable Care Act during an appearance on "Fox News Sunday" and said the calamity surrounding the rollout of the government website portends a bleak future for the legislation.
"It's not really about even a website," the Massachusetts Republican said. "It's about more than that. If they can't even get the website right, what makes you think they're going to be able to actually get the healthcare itself correct?"
Brown said President Barack Obama's recent visit to Boston, which overlapped with Game 6 of the World Series and disrupted already traffic-jammed streets, added insult to injury when Obama the analogized the federal healthcare plan with the groundbreaking one the Bay State initiated in 2006 by then-Gov. Mitt Romney.
"When the president was in Boston, it made my blood boil thinking he's comparing the Massachusetts plan to the federal plan," Brown said. "Two different plans. Our plan didn't raise taxes, didn’t cut Medicare. This one does."
Brown called Democrats "hypocritical" for not agreeing to delay the Affordable Care Act until after the political drama of the government shutdown they blamed on Republicans.
"The American people deserve better," Brown said. "Everybody's doing the blame game, and no one's getting down and doing business."
Finally, when asked by host Chris Wallace whether a run for senator of New Hampshire was in the future, Brown answered, "There's a role for me."
