The Secret Service is expected to name Randolph "Tex" Alles its new director, CNN reported.
Alles, who previously served in the Marine Corps and retired as a two-star general, will be named to the post Tuesday, sources told CNN. He currently serves as acting deputy commissioner of Customs and Border protection, where he has worked since 2012.
Alles served for 35 years in the military before retiring. He will replace Secret Service Deputy Director William Callahan, who has led the organization since Joseph Clancy resigned earlier this year.
Two Secret Service agents were fired in late March over their handling of a fence jumper who made it within steps of the executive mansion before he was caught. He was reportedly on the grounds for more than 15 minutes before being discovered.
The President can confirm the Secret Service Director without a Senate confirmation hearing.
