A laptop computer that contained Trump Tower floor plans, information about the Hillary Clinton email investigation, and other national security information was stolen out of a Secret Service agent's vehicle, police told The New York Daily News.
The laptop was stolen Thursday morning, authorities said.
Items stolen with the laptop have been recovered, including coins and a black bag emblazoned with the Secret Service logo, The Daily News report said.
Authorities are searching for the laptop and documents that were called "sensitive."
The laptop also included evacuation protocols for Trump Tower, where first lady Melania Trump and son Barron live, according to CBS' New York affiliate.
The break-in was not caught on video, but video from the street shows a white man in dark clothing pulling up to the agent's house and exiting out of the rear passenger door. The same individual is later seen carrying the agent's bag, according to the station.
The New York Police Department is assisting in the search. "The Secret Service is heavily involved and, citing national security, there's very little we have on our side. It's a very big deal," a police source told the Daily News.
"They're scrambling like mad," the police source said about the search.
