President Donald Trump was the clear winner in Tuesday night's midterm elections because he continues to have the ability to confirm judges via the GOP-controlled Senate, political commentator Michael Reagan told Newsmax TV.
Reagan was on Thursday's "Newsmax Now" and gave a quick analysis of the midterms that saw the Republicans pad their majority in the Senate but lose control of the House.
"The Democrats got Pelosi, the Republicans got the judges. If I have to choose between what I would want to come out of Tuesday, I would want to be able to appoint judges to the Supreme Court and the other courts in the land, which are gonna far outlive my presidency," said Reagan, alluding to House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi — who could reclaim her spot as House speaker if her colleagues vote her in.
"So, I think it was a huge win for the president of the United States. He can only add to that by putting [Martha] McSally in there, and of course what's going on in Florida with Rick Scott."
