Infowars host Owen Shroyer has been released from custody after being charged in connection to the Jan. 6 attack at the U.S. Capitol.
"I turned myself in," Shroyer said in a video posted Monday on the Infowars website. "They held me for a couple of hours. Got in front of a judge and was able to negotiate the terms of my release. I have very strict conditions on that release. That’s okay. I’m going to abide by them.
"But as far as details go with any charges or any subject matter of the thing, I’m just going to go ahead and say that I’m not going to talk about it. You’ll have to address any questions or concerns to my attorney.
"But here I am in the flesh. I got to hug my crew. I got to take off a mask."
And he added: "Thank you so much for the prayers. Thank you so much for the support. I have a big legal fight ahead of me."
Shroyer hosts "The War Room With Own Shroyer" for the website run by Alex Jones.
According to The Associated Press, he is charged with crimes including disorderly conduct and entering a restricted area of Capitol grounds.
On Saturday, in another video posted on the Infowars website, Shroyer said he was being "politically persecuted" by the federal government, Democratic Party, big media, and big tech.
He said the arrest warrant claimed he was "violent" and went inside the Capitol "even though h the evidence that they put in their document is me standing peacefully on the steps of the Capitol."
"I never called for any violence," he said. "There was never any plan to go do violence that day. That was the last thing we wanted."
According to the AP, court papers claim that the day before the riot, he had said during an address at Freedom Plaza: "Americans are ready to fight. We’re not exactly sure what that’s going to look like perhaps in a couple of weeks if we can’t stop this certification of the fraudulent election ... we are the new revolution! We are going to restore and we are going to save the republic!"
