Obama Takes Shot at WH: 'We Didn't Have a Scandal'

A secret recording of comments made by former President Barack Obama last week was made public Monday, and during the remarks he seemed to take a mild shot at his successor.

Recording or reporting about Obama's speech was against the rules at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology's Sloan Sports Analytics Conference. Reason, however, got ahold of a recording.

What is not clear is why those rules were in place because the content of Obama's speech did not seem controversial.

The one piece of news that came out of the speech was this quote, in which Obama purportedly referenced President Donald Trump and reports of disorganization in the current White House:

"One of the things I'm proud of in my administration was the fact that . . . we didn't have a scandal that embarrassed us. There were mistakes, we'd screw up, but there wasn't anything [inaudible] during eight years.

"I know that seems like a low bar, but generally speaking, you didn't hear about a lot of drama inside our White House."

The Russia scandal has dogged Trump since he took office last year. Multiple congressional committees and the Department of Justice are investigating whether his campaign colluded with Russia.

There have also been accusations of sexual harassment and domestic violence, along with delays in issuing security clearances to the White House staff.
