Sen. Todd Young, R-Ind., is expected to lead the National Republican Senatorial Committee, the Washington Examiner is reporting.
Young is running unopposed for the chairman's post of the Senate Republican campaign arm. He also has the backing of Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky.
Young will be faced with the task of helping maintain the Republican majority in the Senate. Twenty-two Senate Republicans face re-election in 2020, compared to just 12 Democrats, CNN reported.
"It's certainly a difficult map," Young said. "But what we have benefiting the Republican conference is there's a lot of very quality candidates who are up, and quality candidates who are able to run on a real record of accomplishment."
